The Théâtre des Muses is rolling out one of its most charming and heartfelt productions of the season this week…

Under the patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, The Suitcase by Sophie Forte is a one-woman whirlwind of humour, emotion and irresistible family chaos. The show is running until October 12 with performances taking place Thursday to Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 4.30 pm.

Inspired by a real suitcase inherited from her Uncle André, Forte transforms a trove of old photographs into 1 hour and 20 minutes of pure theatrical joy. Onstage, she embodies multiple members of her wildly eccentric lineage: an armchair celebrity father, a relentlessly upbeat mother, a melodramatic aunt with industrial-strength hairspray, a slightly dangerous Neapolitan grandfather and even the family dog, Gerry. Each character bursts to life through Forte’s masterful mimicry and warm-hearted storytelling.

Critics have already fallen under its spell. France 3 hails the show as “very funny and moving,” while Le Figaro praises Forte’s gift for “recounting the small joys of everyday life without fear of self-deprecation.” Audiences are laughing, crying and inevitably thinking of their own family archives.

Tickets are online, along with upcoming productions such as What If It Was Her? and Trip to Napoli, plus Halloween acting workshops for kids and flexible subscription packages for adults.

Whether you’re looking for a great night out, inspiration for your own memoir, or simply a reason to laugh, The Suitcase is a must-see!
