Monaco has reaffirmed its determination to strengthen its defences against financial crime…

On Monday 22 September, the members of the first College of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee of the National Strategy to Combat Money Laundering, the Financing of Terrorism, the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction and Corruption met under the chairmanship of Minister of State Christophe Mirmand for the first time since his appointment.

Mr Mirmand praised the extensive work carried out under the leadership of his predecessors, particularly Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, whose efforts have earned international recognition with the adoption of Monaco’s first FATF (Financial Action Task Force) progress report. He also thanked the Principality’s authorities and services for their contribution and underlined the effectiveness of national-level cooperation in implementing the strategy.

The meeting allowed members to examine the second FATF progress report, due to be adopted at the organisation’s next plenary session in October 2025. Participants also discussed future deadlines and priorities to ensure Monaco stays on track with its commitments. In closing, the Minister of State called on all stakeholders to maintain the same rigour and determination that have underpinned the Principality’s recent progress in this vital area.
