Officials gathered on Thursday, July 10 for the second session of Monaco’s Steering Committee tasked with implementing the Principality’s national anti-corruption strategy, as part of the fifth evaluation cycle of the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).
Chaired by acting Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, the meeting focused on reviewing progress made and identifying next steps in responding to the recommendations issued by GRECO following its evaluation report adopted on June 21, 2024.
In light of the latest developments, GRECO has rescheduled its review of Monaco’s compliance to November 2026, during its 104th plenary session. As a result, Monaco has been granted an extension for submitting its progress report, moving the deadline from December 31, 2025 to May 31, 2026.
Madame Berro-Amadeï reiterated the Principality’s firm commitment to advancing anti-corruption efforts, describing it as a national priority aligned with the direction set by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II. She emphasised that the authorities remain fully engaged and proactive in strengthening Monaco’s legal and institutional frameworks to meet international standards and expectations.
