The Monaco Economic Board (MEB) has successfully concluded its mission to Japan, strengthening ties between the Principality and one of the world’s most dynamic markets…

The visit followed Monaco’s National Day celebrations at the World Expo in Osaka, culminating in Tokyo with a packed programme of bilateral meetings and business events organised alongside the Prince Albert II Foundation and Monaco’s congress tourism department.

The mission gathered nearly thirty Monegasque companies and included the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan. More than fifty Japanese companies attended the delegation’s events, showing clear interest in potential collaborations. For many Monegasque entrepreneurs, it was an opportunity to explore new market segments, from business aviation to high-end wellness products such as cosmetics and light therapy, with companies like Zepter seeking to expand their presence.

Guillaume Rose, Executive General Director of the MEB, highlighted the significance of the mission, emphasising that opening new markets is central to Monaco’s economic strategy. He noted that such trips foster strong relationships not only with foreign partners but also within the Monegasque delegation itself, creating bonds that support business growth back home. Rose also underlined the unique approach of Japanese companies, stating, “They are very careful at first, but once trust is built, their word is strong.”

The MEB’s successful trip underscores Monaco’s commitment to economic diplomacy and its ambition to create opportunities for local businesses on the international stage, reinforcing the Principality’s reputation as a proactive and globally engaged economy.
