The Monaco Economic Board’s trade mission to the United Arab Emirates from 22 to 26 April proved to be a resounding success, surpassing expectations and fostering promising business ties…

Comprising 32 participants from 25 Monegasque entities, the delegation aimed to explore Emirati opportunities, deepen bilateral relations, and establish strategic connections with local stakeholders.

The visit began with a warm welcome from Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce Board members, followed by insightful presentations from the MEB and Abu Dhabi Investment Office. Key themes included investment attractiveness and free zones, complemented by a talk on the geopolitical challenges facing luxury by Bruno Lavagna. A dynamic two-hour networking session between Monegasque and Emirati businesses followed.

Participants then visited Abu Dhabi’s leading innovation hubs, Abu Dhabi Global Market and Hub71, enabling Monaco Tech Director Sandrine Sauval and her startups to gain valuable benchmarking insights. The day concluded with a networking dinner alongside Emirati guests.

The next day was co-organised with CCI France UAE at the Department of Economic Development, offering a comprehensive overview of key economic sectors, legal frameworks, and investor incentives. A highlight was the lunch cocktail at Shangri-La, enabling over 50 targeted meetings between Monegasque and Emirati companies across diverse sectors.

Afternoon visits to the Technology Innovation Institute and Advanced Technology Research Council showcased the UAE’s bold policies supporting innovation. The trip concluded with a cultural visit to the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Overall, the mission opened new collaboration pathways and generated valuable insights to enhance Monaco’s economic appeal.
