Reshaping works at Larvotto Beach have been extended by one week after recent rough seas and poor weather conditions forced a temporary halt to operations.
Originally scheduled for completion on Friday, April 18, the project will now continue until Friday, April 25. The delay was implemented as a precaution to ensure the safety of workers and to minimise disruption to the marine environment.
As a result, sea bathing and diving will remain prohibited in both bays of the Larvotto area until the works are completed. Restaurants and shops within the seafront complex will remain open as usual, with no restrictions on access.
The annual reprofiling operation, similar to last year’s, is being carried out in anticipation of the summer season. Its aim is to reduce the steep incline of the beach caused by winter conditions, ensuring safer access to swimming areas and sufficient capacity for beachgoers.
Work is taking place daily from 07:30 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:30. Once completed, ongoing maintenance will be undertaken throughout the summer to preserve the width and gentle slope of the beach, without requiring further closures or limiting access for swimmers.
