The second edition of the Monaco Beach Open for Women took place this weekend at the Prince Albert I Leisure Centre in La Turbie, bringing together over 40 top athletes for two days of high-level competition…

Organised ahead of next week’s men’s tournament, the women’s event marked the start of a dynamic fortnight of beach tennis at altitude, where players from across France competed for qualification points toward the national finals at Cap 3000.

Despite only being in its second year, the Monaco Beach Open has already earned a strong reputation, attracting teams from as far as Paris, Île de Ré and Dunkirk. Among the standout performances were Anouck and Alex from Île de Ré, who triumphed over reigning French champions, a feat they celebrated with enthusiasm and confidence for the rounds ahead.

The tournament began with a qualifying day, where 16 teams battled for spots in the main draw of 12. The competitive atmosphere was matched by the spirit of camaraderie and passion for the sport, which continues to grow in visibility and prestige. In addition to chasing points for the French Championship, the tournament also served as preparation for the upcoming Games of the Small States of Europe, to be held in Andorra at the end of May.

Team Monaco was proudly represented, with Victoria Bégué and Marie Anger forming the female pair ahead of the men’s competition next weekend, featuring players like Théo Schumeur and Pierre Baré. With its scenic location, competitive spirit and Olympic values, the Monaco Beach Open continues to cement itself as a highlight in the national beach tennis calendar.
