On Friday, March 28, under the presidency of Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and acting Minister of State, the Principality of Monaco held the inaugural meeting of the Steering Committee for the Global Anti-Corruption Strategy…

This initiative forms part of Monaco’s participation in the fifth evaluation cycle of the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO). Created by Sovereign Ordinance No. 11.092 of 18 February 2025, the Steering Committee is tasked with developing a comprehensive strategy and identifying the necessary measures to implement GRECO’s recommendations. These aim to strengthen transparency and prevent corruption within central government structures and law enforcement agencies.

In her opening remarks, Berro-Amadeï welcomed the establishment of the committee, highlighting its central role in ensuring concrete progress by the end of the year. “This committee will be key to achieving tangible results,” she said, referencing the first official progress report due in December 2025.

The creation of this committee signals the Principality’s clear determination to uphold integrity and accountability across its institutions. It also reflects Monaco’s ongoing commitment to international standards in governance and anti-corruption efforts.

The committee is composed of senior government figures, including the Secretary of Justice and Director of Judicial Services, Government Ministers, the Chiefs of Staff to the Sovereign Prince and Minister of State, the Secretary General of the Government, and representatives from the Public Security Directorate, Legal Affairs, Human Resources, and the General Inspectorate of Administration.

With this initiative, Monaco continues to strengthen its institutional framework and demonstrate its proactive stance in combating corruption, reinforcing trust and transparency at the heart of public service.
