Monaco’s Attorney General has confirmed that investigators are still pursuing every possible line of inquiry into the June 29 bomb attack targeting Ukrainian businessman Vadim Ermolaev, with the motive and those who ordered the assassination attempt yet to be identified…
Speaking at a press conference on Friday July 10, Attorney General Stéphane Thibault said no single theory was currently being favoured. “We are investigating all avenues without ruling anything out,” he said, adding that forensic analysis of the explosive device has not yet been completed.
Thibault confirmed that two investigating judges are overseeing the case, supported by Monaco’s Criminal Investigation Department and international partners. He said German authorities had played a key role in quickly identifying the alleged bomber, while cooperation with Ukrainian prosecutors remains ongoing through regular exchanges. However, Monaco has not yet received all of the judicial documents requested from Ukraine.
The Attorney General also provided an update on the victims. Ermolaev’s condition continues to improve, although he is not yet well enough to be interviewed. His 13-year-old son, who has already spoken to investigators, remains in hospital in Nice, while the seriously injured woman continues to recover but remains in critical condition.
