Young people from across the Principality gathered at Lycée Rainier III on Thursday for the eighth session of Monaco’s Youth Advisory Committee, a forum designed to give younger generations a direct voice in public life…

Around twenty representatives from schools, youth organisations and socio-educational centres met with government officials, members of the National Council and municipal representatives to discuss issues affecting young people in Monaco. Topics included career guidance, social media, student life, sport and community engagement.

The committee provides a platform for participants to raise concerns and propose practical solutions. Among the ideas discussed were dedicating classroom time to career orientation, organising a student associations day and creating a charter for class representatives. A student-focused information platform is also under consideration.

The protection of minors on social media was another key topic, following the National Council’s recent resolution aimed at shielding under-15s from online risks.

Participants stressed the importance of ensuring that young people—whether Monegasque, resident or educated in the Principality—have an active role in shaping policies that affect them. The session once again demonstrated strong engagement from Monaco’s youth and reaffirmed the Prince’s Government’s commitment to involving younger generations in discussions about the Principality’s future.
