His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene joined Monaco’s traditional Corpus Christi celebrations on Wednesday evening, observing the ceremony from the window of the Prince’s Palace overlooking Monaco-Ville…
The religious observance began with a pontifical Mass celebrated by Archbishop Dominique-Marie David at Monaco Cathedral. Following the service, a procession carrying the Blessed Sacrament wound its way through the streets of the old town, passing through Palace Square and the Town Hall Square in keeping with long-standing tradition.
The procession was greeted by the fanfare of the Prince’s Carabiniers, which performed the ceremonial honours. The celebrations continued with a period of adoration and prayer, accompanied by the singing of the Tantum Ergo by the Little Singers of Monaco, before Archbishop David delivered the traditional blessing.

Corpus Christi, now officially known by the Catholic Church as the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, is a public holiday in Monaco. The feast celebrates the belief in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist through the consecrated bread and wine.
Deeply rooted in Monaco’s religious and cultural heritage, the annual celebration remains one of the Principality’s most important Catholic observances, bringing together clergy, worshippers and members of the Princely Family in a public expression of faith and tradition.
