Finding affordable accommodation on the French Riviera remains one of the biggest challenges facing seasonal workers, particularly during the busy summer months…
To help address the issue, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer continues to expand its dedicated employee housing programme, including the New Beach residence located just steps from the coast.
The residence offers 99 beds reserved for seasonal staff, ranging from shared rooms to independent studios and executive apartments. Employees can stay for up to six months, giving them time to settle into the region and, where possible, secure more permanent accommodation if their contracts are extended.
SBM says housing support has become an important recruitment tool as rising rents and limited availability continue to affect workers across the Côte d’Azur. Beyond accommodation itself, the residence has been designed to encourage community living, with shared kitchens, common spaces and laundry facilities helping residents build friendships and maintain a social life outside work.
The New Beach forms part of a wider network of seasonal housing operated by SBM across Beausoleil, Cap-d’Ail and Menton, representing a total capacity of 334 beds. Two additional projects are currently under construction in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and Beausoleil.
Each year, SBM recruits around 1,200 seasonal workers, making staff accommodation an increasingly important factor in supporting Monaco’s tourism and hospitality sector.
