The Casino de Monte-Carlo is embracing a playful new chapter this spring, blending classic gaming heritage with fresh attractions inspired by one of the world’s most recognisable board games.

From this week, the Atrium of the historic venue has been transformed into a Monopoly-themed setting, complete with oversized game elements, scattered banknotes and a towering three-metre figure of the iconic Mr. Monopoly. The installation, open until May 17, invites visitors to step into a life-sized version of the game while exploring the casino’s evolving entertainment offering.

The launch coincides with the European debut of a new generation of themed slot machines, unveiled during a special event on April 17. Developed by Aristocrat Gaming, the Monopoly-inspired machines introduce an interactive twist to the casino floor, with several units set to be installed at the nearby Casino Café de Paris in the coming days.

Alongside the visual transformation, players are being drawn into a wider experience extending beyond the gaming tables. Loyalty programme members will have access to prize draws and giveaways totalling €100,000, while a social media campaign featuring puzzles and challenges adds a digital layer to the festivities.

The changes are not limited to gaming. The Café Rotonde, a long-standing feature of the casino, has also been reimagined with extended opening hours and a refreshed concept. Now operating throughout the day, the space combines its traditional elegance with subtle nods to gaming history, including vintage slot machines dating back to the 1930s.

The culinary offering has been expanded to include a selection of pastries inspired by the world of chance, alongside a menu of signature cocktails designed to reflect the same playful spirit. The aim is to create a more relaxed, immersive environment where visitors can move seamlessly between dining and entertainment.

More than 160 years after opening its doors, the Casino de Monte-Carlo continues to evolve, proving that even one of Monaco’s most established institutions is not afraid to roll the dice on reinvention.
