The Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco continued their programme this week with a new conference dedicated to the theme of gratitude, held at the Théâtre Princesse Grace…

Bringing together leading thinkers including Paul Audi, Judith Revel and Camille Riquier, the evening invited the audience to reflect on the meaning and place of gratitude in everyday life. Is gratitude a genuine moral sentiment, or has it been reduced to a simple social convention? These questions guided a rich and thoughtful discussion, placing human experience firmly at its centre.

In front of an attentive audience, and in the presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and Charlotte Casiraghi, the speakers explored gratitude from philosophical, ethical and emotional perspectives. They examined its role in relationships, its connection to recognition and humility, and the ways in which it shapes our understanding of others.

As with previous editions, the event highlighted Monaco’s growing reputation as a hub for intellectual exchange, offering a space where complex ideas can be explored with clarity, depth and openness.
