Several homes in Monaco were left without running water on Tuesday, March 31, following a burst pipe near the Sainte-Dévote area…

The incident occurred mid-morning at a construction site above Monaco’s train station, prompting a rapid response from the local water authority.

Although traffic in the area was not affected, a number of residential buildings experienced temporary supply disruptions, particularly along Boulevard Rainier III and Boulevard du Jardin Exotique. Residents in several large complexes were impacted as repair teams worked to contain the issue and restore service.

As reported by Monaco Matin, the damage was linked to ongoing works at the Villa Lucia development, where the pipe failure occurred at around 10:00. The Monaco Water Company quickly deployed teams to the site, with engineers working throughout the day to carry out repairs.

Officials indicated that the intervention could take several hours due to the complexity of the infrastructure involved. Despite the disruption, authorities reassured residents that the situation was under control and that every effort was being made to restore normal service as soon as possible.

Water supply was expected to return progressively by early evening, bringing an end to the temporary outage affecting parts of the Principality.
