The Monaco Economic Board began its 2026 international outreach with a three-day economic mission to Zurich from Wednesday, March 11 to Friday, March 13, bringing together more than twenty companies and representatives from the Principality’s financial, legal and business sectors.

The delegation included 26 participants representing 21 Monegasque organisations, reflecting Monaco’s continued interest in strengthening its economic connections with Switzerland—one of Europe’s most influential financial and commercial centres. Throughout the visit, discussions focused on exploring new partnerships, sharing expertise and identifying opportunities for collaboration between the two business communities.

The mission benefited from strong support from Monaco’s diplomatic network. Among those involved were Carole Lanteri, Honorary Consul in Zurich Hélène Faggionato-Knight, Honorary Consul General in Bern Eric de Graffenried, and Honorary Consul in Lugano Giacomo Carlo Talleri. Also taking part was Luca Comparato, whose involvement highlighted the close relationship between the two countries’ diplomatic and economic networks.

The programme opened with presentations outlining the Swiss economic landscape and potential business opportunities. Representatives from the France‑Switzerland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Swiss Business Hub and the Mirabaud Group offered insights into Switzerland’s business environment and areas where cooperation with Monaco could grow.

The visit also included a cultural highlight that reflected the strong ties between the two regions. Members of the delegation attended a performance of Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto, a co-production between the Zurich Opera and the Opéra de Monte‑Carlo. The evening featured a standout performance by Cecilia Bartoli, who leads the Monte-Carlo opera.

The following day saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Monaco Economic Board and the France-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, formalising closer cooperation between the two organisations. The agreement aims to facilitate stronger business connections and promote new opportunities for companies in both Monaco and Switzerland.

To turn these discussions into tangible outcomes, Swiss and Monegasque entrepreneurs, bankers and legal professionals participated in a series of business-to-business meetings, designed to encourage collaboration and the exchange of expertise. Representatives from the Monaco Chamber of Renewable Energies also joined the delegation, highlighting Monaco’s growing interest in sustainable industries.

The mission concluded with visits to several emblematic Swiss institutions, including the Switzerland Innovation Park, as well as stops at prestigious watchmaking houses Jaeger‑LeCoultre and Panerai. The delegation’s final evening together took place at the historic Baur au Lac, offering one last opportunity for networking and discussion.

For Monaco’s business community, the Zurich mission served as an important step in strengthening links with Switzerland’s economic ecosystem, while laying the groundwork for future partnerships between companies in both countries.
