The Roca Team has secured its place in the final of the French Cup after defeating Nanterre 88–83 on the evening of Tuesday, March 10, continuing the Principality club’s strong run in domestic competitions.

Despite the absence of head coach Vassilis Spanoulis, who’s departure from the club was announced the following day, Monaco controlled the game from start to finish at Nanterre’s Palais des Sports. The victory sends the Roca Team to the second French Cup final in the club’s history.

Led on the court by captain Mike James, Monaco maintained its composure throughout the contest. The team built a solid first-half lead, heading into the break ahead 45–39, before producing a decisive burst after halftime. A rapid 19–3 run in the third quarter opened up a commanding advantage that Nanterre struggled to overcome.

Monaco entered the game with a shortened roster. Key players including Nikola Mirotic and Daniel Theis were unavailable, leaving Kevarrius Hayes as the team’s only specialist center. To compensate, the Roca Team relied on speed, aggressive defense and quick ball movement to keep control of the tempo.

Nanterre attempted a late comeback in the final quarter, reducing the gap to six points thanks to strong performances from their frontcourt and perimeter shooters. However, Monaco’s guards steadied the team in the closing minutes to secure the victory.

The result extends Monaco’s remarkable domestic streak, marking their 20th consecutive win against a French club in all competitions since November 2025.

The Principality side will now travel to Paris for the final on April 25 at the Accor Arena, where they will face Le Mans Sarthe Basket. Monaco will be aiming to capture its second French Cup title after lifting the trophy in 2023.
