All Monegasque nationals who had been stranded in the Middle East following the outbreak of regional tensions have now safely returned to the Principality…
The final group arrived on Sunday, March 8, after leaving Doha and Dubai, where they had been blocked since the first bombardments on February 28.
They were welcomed at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport by Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Benjamin Valli, Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations. The return of the last travellers marks the successful conclusion of a coordinated effort by Monaco’s diplomatic and consular services to ensure the safety of its citizens during a rapidly evolving crisis.
The Princely Government expressed its satisfaction at having secured the repatriation of all those affected, highlighting the rapid mobilisation of the relevant authorities from the earliest hours of the situation. Particular thanks were extended to Evelyne Genta, Monaco’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, as well as to the teams from the Directorate of Diplomatic and Consular Relations and the crisis unit that had remained fully engaged since February 28.
Officials also praised the calm and responsible behaviour shown by the Monegasque nationals during what was a difficult and uncertain period. With their safe return now complete, the government wished them well as they reunited with their families and resumed normal life in the Principality.
