AS Monaco Basket faced another turbulent chapter on Friday as the Monaco District Court appointed a court-mandated administrator to review the club’s finances, granting the Roca Team a further reprieve until April 3…

According to Monaco Matin, the decision followed last-minute financial transfers aimed at settling outstanding social security contributions owed by the club.

The court hearing came after weeks of uncertainty surrounding the club’s financial position, an issue previously reported by News.MC as the Roca Team grappled with mounting debts and pressure from the French league over unpaid luxury tax charges. In the latest development, payments totalling around €780,000 were reportedly ordered to Monaco’s social security funds just hours before the hearing, although they had not yet been fully received.

The Principality also stepped in earlier this week, with a government-linked financing body providing €2.5 million in emergency support to stabilise the situation. Private donations have also reportedly contributed close to €500,000 as the club seeks to regain financial footing.

Off the court, the sporting situation remains complicated. Following the earlier departure of centre Yoan Makoundou, guard David Michineau has now left the club, further reducing a roster already affected by injuries and a transfer ban.

Despite the upheaval, AS Monaco host Cholet on Saturday evening at Gaston-Médecin, with the club insisting that player salaries for January and February have now been paid. However, questions about the Roca Team’s long-term financial stability remain unresolved.
