The 12th edition of the Ark of the Heart gala brought together music lovers and supporters of the Amadarche association on March 3 at the Rainier III Auditorium in Monaco…
The annual charity evening, organised by Les Amis de l’Arche Monaco, aims to raise funds to support L’Arche communities that provide homes and daily support for people with intellectual disabilities.
Around 500 guests attended the event, which opened with a lively performance by the duo Gold Azur, featuring Lisa Kerob, a violin soloist with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, alongside guitarist Claude Bodo. The evening also paid tribute to the late Franck Lavogé, bassoonist with the orchestra and a dedicated supporter of Amadarche.
A chamber ensemble composed of musicians from the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra performed works by Jacques Ibert, Gabriel Fauré, Malcolm Arnold and Astor Piazzolla, before the programme continued with a moving mini-performance by residents of L’Arche communities.
The evening concluded with a vibrant gospel concert by the Nice Gospel Group, an ensemble of amateur singers accompanied by four musicians, performing traditional spirituals as well as well-known songs by artists such as Freddie Mercury and George Michael.
A charity raffle, supported by Monaco’s local businesses, rounded off the evening. Funds raised will help maintain and develop L’Arche’s welcoming communities, where people with disabilities live and thrive in an atmosphere of dignity, friendship and support.
