Four years after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, members of Monaco’s Ukrainian community gathered in solidarity with those still enduring the conflict, marking a sombre anniversary that many wish did not exist…

For the leaders of the Help Ukraine Monaco collective, the date is a reminder not only of loss and hardship but also of the ongoing need for practical support, from humanitarian aid to long-term assistance for those affected by the war.

Since February 2022, the association has organised regular collections of food, medicines, hygiene products and essential supplies, sending them to civilians, families and frontline communities. Volunteers say the response from Monaco’s residents has been unwavering, with donations arriving from across the Principality to support both people and animals in Ukraine. Beyond emergency relief, the group has also helped establish a rehabilitation sports club in Kyiv for veterans and civilians who have lost limbs, offering physical recovery and renewed independence through sport.

Personal testimonies shared by members of the collective underline the continued hardship faced by relatives and friends in Ukraine, where power cuts, freezing temperatures and ongoing attacks on infrastructure remain a daily reality. Despite the distance, the Monaco-based community remains closely connected to events on the ground, maintaining regular contact and sending assistance whenever possible.

As the conflict enters its fifth year, the association is calling on residents to continue supporting its efforts through donations, collections and awareness, reaffirming Monaco’s solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
