Sunshine and strong crowds set the tone for the second day of the Monaco Run Gramaglia 2026, as around 1,400 runners gathered at Port Hercule for the flagship 5 km and 10 km races…
With ideal racing conditions replacing the previous day’s grey skies, athletes of all levels took to the streets of the Principality for a morning defined by pace, performance and new records.
The 10 km event opened proceedings in spectacular fashion. Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon, three-time Olympic champion over 1500 metres, delivered an impressive solo performance, completing the distance in 29 minutes and 48 seconds during her road racing debut over 10 km. Moments later, the official race saw Morocco’s Abdellah Kertoum surge to victory in 30 minutes and 26 seconds, setting a new course record. In the women’s field, Hungary’s Edit Filo dominated from the outset, crossing the line in 37 minutes and 44 seconds to secure a commanding win.
The day concluded with a fiercely contested 5 km race that maintained the high-energy atmosphere. Dutch athlete Tim van der Baan claimed victory in 13 minutes and 25 seconds, edging out compatriot Juan Zilderman by just three seconds in a thrilling sprint finish.
From elite champions to enthusiastic amateurs, the second day of the Monaco Run once again highlighted the Principality’s growing reputation as a premier destination for international road running, blending top-level sport with the unique backdrop of Monaco’s streets and waterfront.
