Monaco is set to make its mark on the international cycling calendar in 2026 as it prepares to host the Grand Départ of the Vuelta a España, and organisers have opened a call for volunteers to support the event.

The start of one of cycling’s three Grand Tours in the Principality represents a major sporting milestone, expected to draw global attention and millions of viewers worldwide. To ensure the smooth running of the event, organisers are inviting members of the public to join the volunteer programme and take part behind the scenes.

Volunteers will be involved in a wide range of roles, including welcoming spectators, providing logistical support, helping with crowd orientation and assisting teams and officials. The programme is open to participants of all ages and backgrounds, with no specific experience required, allowing everyone to find a role suited to their availability and interests.

Beyond operational support, the volunteer initiative is also presented as an opportunity to contribute to Monaco’s international sporting profile, while gaining valuable organisational and human experience through involvement in a large-scale event.

Those interested in volunteering are asked to register by sending an email to info@mci.mc, including their surname, first name, date and place of birth, telephone number and email address.

An initial information meeting for prospective volunteers is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4 at 18:00, at the auditorium of Lycée Rainier III, located at 7 allée Lazare Sauvaigo in Monaco. Organisers say the meeting will outline the various roles available and the practical arrangements leading up to the Grand Départ.

The volunteer programme is expected to play a key role in ensuring the success of the 2026 Grand Départ, as Monaco prepares to welcome the Vuelta and its international audience.
