His Serene Highness Prince Albert II has arrived in Davos to take part in the World Economic Forum, which concludes this Friday, January 23, marking the end of a week of high-level discussions on global economic and political issues.
The Sovereign took part in a series of meetings at the forum, using the platform to share Monaco’s perspectives on international cooperation, sustainability, and economic responsibility. These exchanges formed part of Monaco’s broader engagement at one of the world’s most influential global gatherings.
Speaking to Monaco Info, Prince Albert II described the atmosphere in Davos as striking, particularly given the international context surrounding this year’s debates. He also highlighted the success of Monaco Day, which brought together nearly 500 participants, including political leaders, business figures, and representatives from international organisations. The event served as a showcase for the Principality’s economic model, environmental commitments, and diplomatic outreach.
The Sovereign also reflected on the geopolitical climate framing this year’s forum, noting that recent statements by United States President Donald Trump regarding Greenland added an unusual and tense dimension to discussions. These remarks, he observed, underscored the unpredictability of current international relations and the importance of dialogue at multilateral forums such as Davos.
As the World Economic Forum draws to a close, Monaco’s participation once again highlights the Principality’s active role on the global stage, combining economic diplomacy with advocacy on environmental and humanitarian issues.
