Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) began the new year with an optimistic outlook as Chairman Stéphane Valeri delivered the group’s annual presentation to the press, reviewing a strong financial performance and outlining ambitious plans for the years ahead…
SBM recorded a 10 percent increase in revenue in the first half of the 2025–2026 financial year, delivering a net result of more than €127 million. The festive season underlined the group’s continued appeal, with over 30,000 people gathering in Casino Square on December 31 alone — double the attendance recorded the previous year. Recent openings, including the Monte-Carlo Cigar Club, the wine cellar circle at Hôtel de Paris and the Groë pastry boutique, have further strengthened the resort’s lifestyle offering.
Looking ahead, major renovation programmes will continue across several flagship properties. Extensive upgrades are underway at the Hermitage and Monte-Carlo Bay hotels, with hundreds of rooms and suites scheduled for refurbishment, alongside new family-focused facilities. Attention will also turn to the Casino Café de Paris, which is set to be transformed into one of Europe’s most modern slot-focused gaming venues, while preserving Monte Carlo’s heritage and identity.
Beyond Monaco, SBM is accelerating its international development strategy. A first mountain hotel is scheduled to open in Courchevel in 2027, followed by hospitality projects in Dubai in partnership with international restaurant group Dream International. Longer-term projects under discussion include further expansion of Monte-Carlo Bay and potential real estate developments near the Thermes Marins.
To support continued growth, SBM will also host a major recruitment day next week, offering more than 1,000 seasonal positions.
