Residents evacuated from the Annonciade site have been authorised to return to their homes, following an improvement in safety conditions. The Prince’s Government confirmed the decision during a press briefing held on the morning of Tuesday, December 30.

Minister of State Christophe Mirmand announced that stabilisation works carried out over the past several days had significantly reduced pressure on the slope. Monitoring levels have now fallen below the pre-alert threshold, allowing precautionary evacuation measures to be lifted.

The residents affected in both Monaco and Beausoleil had been asked to leave their homes before Christmas as a safety measure. They will be able to return from this evening, enabling them to spend New Year’s Eve at home.

Despite the positive development, the authorities stressed that vigilance remains essential. A series of measures has been announced to ensure enhanced long-term monitoring of the site, alongside the introduction of a natural risk prevention plan.

Christophe Mirmand provided further details on the situation and the measures in place in an interview with Monaco Info.
