Monaco Town Hall has issued a public warning after reports of a fraudulent scheme targeting residents under the guise of a supposed membership offer linked to Espace Lamartine.
According to officials, an individual is falsely presenting themselves as a representative of the municipal Social Services department, claiming to arrange memberships through a non-existent partnership with a bank. Victims are contacted directly and told that the person will visit their home to complete the process, complete with a box of chocolates offered as a so-called welcome gift.
Town Hall has confirmed that the approach is a scam and stressed that municipal staff do not solicit memberships door to door, do not process applications in private homes, and do not operate such schemes in collaboration with banks.
Residents who receive similar contact are urged not to engage and to report the matter immediately to the appropriate authorities.
