A man was arrested on the morning of Monday, December 22 at the entrance to Monaco after being found in possession of a katana while walking from the nearby town of Cap-d’Ail, Monaco-Matin reports.
The individual was first spotted by the gendarmerie in Cap-d’Ail and was calmly intercepted by Monaco’s Public Security Service. The arrest was carried out peacefully, with no violence reported.
Following his detention, the man began experiencing abdominal pain and was promptly taken to the Princess Grace Hospital for treatment. Police have confirmed that he will be questioned once his health permits.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and no further details about the man’s intentions have been released.
