Monaco’s youngest volunteers helped bring festive warmth to some of the Principality’s most isolated seniors on Friday, December 19, taking part in a long-standing Christmas tradition run by Monaco Town Hall’s Seniors and Social Action Service.

Six primary school pupils joined municipal teams at 9:00 to deliver gift baskets and presents to 30 elderly residents. The gesture, simple but deeply appreciated, offered companionship and conversation to those who might otherwise face a quieter holiday season.

City officials were out in force to support the initiative, including Camille Svara, First Deputy Mayor, Second Deputy Mayor Marjorie Crovetto, Seventh Deputy Mayor Jean-Marc Deoriti-Castellini, Eighth Deputy Mayor Karyn Ardisson Salopek, and councillors Nada Lorenzi and Nathalie Vaccarezza, alongside staff from the Seniors and Social Action Service.

The hampers featured Christmas treats, chocolates and a poinsettia — a seasonal emblem intended to brighten homes as much as spirits. After completing their deliveries, the young helpers were thanked for their efforts over a friendly gathering, where they received small gifts in return.

The annual event once again showcased Monaco’s intergenerational solidarity, proving that a little kindness shared between generations can go a long way at Christmas.
