The Princely Government has unveiled a new digital tool designed to make parking easier and more accessible for people with reduced mobility across the Principality…
Presented on Monday December 14th, in the presence of Government Counsellor-Minister of Social Affairs and Health Christophe Robino and Disability Delegate Lionel Galfré, the initiative forms part of Monaco’s broader commitment to inclusion under its Handipact policy.
Named Ma Place PMR, the application allows users to locate suitable parking spaces for people with disabilities in real time. Developed through close cooperation between several government departments, including the Digital Services team led by Deputy Director Georges Gambarini, the platform provides up-to-date information on the availability, location and configuration of PMR spaces. This ensures that users can identify parking spots that allow safe access, adequate manoeuvring space and ease of exit from their vehicle, including for wheelchair users.
Accessible via the dedicated website maplacepmr.gouv.mc and through the YourMonaco mobile application, Ma Place PMR complements the recently launched StreetNav service, which assists people with reduced mobility in navigating the city on foot or via public transport. Together, the two tools address the main mobility challenges faced by people with disabilities: moving through public spaces and finding appropriate parking close to their destination.
All above-ground PMR parking spaces are expected to be fully integrated into the system by early 2026. The initiative represents another concrete step in Monaco’s efforts to create a more inclusive urban environment, using digital innovation to improve everyday independence and quality of life for residents and visitors with disabilities.
