A class of pupils at Collège Charles III enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime sports lesson this week with a visit from Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo, as part of the international Kids’ Athletics programme…
Fresh from his gold-medal triumph in the 200 metres at Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Tebogo joined a Year 6 class for a hands-on athletics session combining running, jumping and throwing workshops. The morning was designed to introduce pupils to the fundamentals of track and field in a fun, accessible way while encouraging confidence, teamwork and physical activity.

Beyond the drills, the Botswanan sprinter took time to speak with the pupils, sharing his personal journey and reminding them that success begins with simply doing your best, whatever your circumstances. For the students, racing alongside an Olympic champion proved an unforgettable highlight, with several leaving inspired to take up athletics themselves.
Tebogo’s visit formed part of the build-up to the World Athletics Awards 2025, which take place in Monaco this weekend. As an ambassador for Kids’ Athletics, his presence underlined the programme’s mission to promote sport, healthy lifestyles and joyful movement among young people worldwide.
For the pupils of Collège Charles III, it was an extraordinary reminder that even Olympic dreams can begin in a school sports hall.
