Bernard d’Alessandri has been appointed president of the Chambre Monégasque du Yachting, the body representing Monaco’s yachting sector within Government, the Fédération des Entreprises Monégasques (FEDEM) announced on Monday 24th November…
A central figure in Monaco’s maritime landscape for more than three decades, Mr d’Alessandri has served as General Secretary and Managing Director of the Yacht Club de Monaco since 1990. His leadership has helped position the Principality as a global reference in innovation, sustainability and nautical excellence, notably through flagship initiatives such as Monaco Classic Week – La Belle Classe, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge and the Superyacht Eco Association’s SEA Index. He also chairs Cluster Yachting Monaco and the “Monaco, Capital of Yachting” commission dedicated to long-term strategic development.
Mr d’Alessandri said his commitment “has always been guided by a passion for the sea and yachting,” adding that he hopes to support a sector that remains one of Monaco’s defining strengths.
FEDEM president Philippe Ortelli underlined the importance of the sector, which generates almost €600 million in annual revenue and supports around 1,500 jobs, according to IMSEE. He noted that strong representation within FEDEM is essential to defend the industry’s interests and uphold Monaco’s values of excellence and sustainability.
The appointment strengthens the ongoing “Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting” initiative, placing the Chamber at the centre of the Principality’s economic and environmental strategy for the future of global yachting.
