La Bookinerie, the new independent bookstore that opened just a few months ago in the Condamine district, has taken a new step in building its community presence with the launch of its very first book club…
Designed as a welcoming space for readers to connect, share favourites and keep the spirit of the bookshop alive, the inaugural session took place this week in an atmosphere of warmth and curiosity.
Originally named the “Mama Book Club”, a nod from the founder to new mothers seeking a quiet cultural moment for themselves, the initiative quickly broadened as interest grew. It will now simply be known as La Bookinerie’s Book Club, open to all readers regardless of age or genre preference.
For the first meeting, seven enthusiastic participants gathered to exchange views on Mémoire de la Forêt by Mickaël Brun-Arnaud, a moving and imaginative novel selected by the bookshop. Attendees praised the opportunity to discover new titles, discuss their favourite reads of the year and enjoy a rare communal literary moment in the heart of Monaco.
The success of this debut edition has already paved the way for monthly gatherings starting in December. Alongside the book club, La Bookinerie continues to expand its offer with writing workshops and cultural events. Updates and future dates can be followed on the bookshop’s social media channels.
