Monaco United Football Club made history on Sunday, November 9, as they played their first-ever home match at the Didier Deschamps Stadium in Cap-d’Ail — and marked the occasion in style with a commanding 5–2 win over Mougins in the fourth round of the championship.

Under the guidance of head coach Marco Simone, the Monegasque side stepped onto home turf for the first time in front of an enthusiastic crowd eager to witness a landmark moment in the young club’s journey. The electric atmosphere reflected the growing excitement around a team that has quickly become one to watch.

Despite conceding early, Monaco United soon found their rhythm, controlling possession and dictating play. Captain for the day Rachel Robert levelled the score before halftime with a brilliant left-footed volley from the edge of the box. After the break, Robert struck again — a thunderous effort into the top corner — to restore Monaco’s lead. With confidence flowing, Simone’s side piled on the pressure, adding two more goals to seal a dominant 5–2 victory and maintain their perfect start to the season.

“It wasn’t an easy match — Mougins defended deep and compact,” said two-goal hero Robert. “But we stayed patient, trusted our physical strength, and made it count when it mattered. It’s a great win, and we’re only getting stronger.”

Coach Marco Simone echoed her sentiment, praising his side’s composure under pressure: “It was a special day — our first home match, a lot of emotion. The team played with enthusiasm and intelligence, especially in the second half. It’s a strong foundation to build on.”

Beyond the result, the occasion carried deep symbolic value for the club. “Playing so close to the Stade Louis-II, in such a beautiful setting, was truly special,” Simone added. “We felt at home. My thanks go to the Cap-d’Ail Town Hall for their incredible support and hospitality.”

Four matches, four victories — Monaco United’s dream start continues, as they look to extend their winning streak next Sunday in Cagnes-sur-Mer.
