Environmental advocate and author Sébastien Uscher, well known in Monaco for organising World Cleanup Day and for his association Stand Up for the Planet, has released his latest book Les Clés Oubliées (“The Forgotten Keys”)…

The work, which is partly autobiographical, explores the connection between personal well-being and collective environmental transition, offering a fresh perspective on how change must begin within before it can happen globally.

Drawing from his experiences in sustainable development at Decathlon and later as a consultant for businesses, Uscher identifies five “forgotten keys”:  love, awareness, utopia, breathing, and time; as essential to creating meaningful and lasting transformation. “We won’t succeed in the energy transition if we don’t first work on ourselves,” he explained, noting that these inner changes are as vital as technological advances in the fight against climate change.

The book, which blends science, reflection, and practical exercises, encourages readers to reconnect with what truly matters through small, conscious choices. Uscher describes the work as “realistic rather than pessimistic,” aiming to inspire optimism grounded in awareness.

Les Clés Oubliées is available in Monaco at local bookshops and on Etsy. Through his book and ongoing work, Uscher continues to champion environmental engagement rooted in personal transformation and hope for a more balanced future.
