A new step toward accessibility was taken in Monaco on October 23, with the official unveiling of StreetNav, a mobile application designed to make navigation easier for people with reduced mobility…
The launch took place at the Ministry of State in the presence of Government Advisor–Minister of Social Affairs and Health Christophe Robino, Technical Advisor Delegate for Disability Lionel Galfré, and Deputy Director of Digital Services Georges Gambarini.
Developed to help users move around the Principality more freely, StreetNav identifies accessible routes and offers tailored journeys that avoid obstacles such as stairs, steep gradients, or construction areas. The app also provides alerts and alternative paths depending on the user’s needs, whether physical, visual, or cognitive. Available on both iOS and Android, it serves as a digital companion to help residents and visitors with disabilities navigate Monaco with greater ease and independence.
StreetNav forms part of the Handipact policy, launched by the Prince’s Government in 2023, which aims to promote inclusion and improve accessibility across the Principality. The initiative underscores Monaco’s commitment to using innovation to foster equality and autonomy for all.
“With StreetNav, we are giving every person the ability to move around safely and confidently,” Minister Robino told Monaco Info. “It’s a concrete example of how digital tools can support inclusion and improve quality of life in Monaco.”
