In a step toward smarter and more sustainable living, SMEG has introduced a new digital application designed to help Monaco residents monitor and manage their energy consumption with ease…

The innovative app allows users to track electricity and gas usage, access billing information, adjust their contract settings, and even receive real-time alerts—all from the comfort of their home.

The app, which has already been downloaded by over 10,000 customers, aims to support the Principality’s digital transition while placing customer needs at the heart of the utility experience. Sylvain Didier-Jean, Director of Electricity and Gas Activities at SMEG, described the tool as a game-changer in the relationship between the company and its subscribers. “It’s not just about data,” he said, “it’s about helping people understand their habits and make informed decisions.”

Users can compare their consumption with households of similar size and appliance usage, giving a clear picture of where savings can be made—both financially and environmentally. The app also integrates energy weather alerts, allowing users to anticipate periods of high demand and adjust usage accordingly.

One early user reported changes in household habits thanks to the app: airing out rooms more often, adjusting heating, and becoming more aware of seasonal spikes in consumption. These small shifts can add up, reducing energy bills and CO₂ emissions.

Whether driven by cost savings or climate concerns, SMEG’s app offers a practical tool for empowering Monaco’s residents to live more consciously and sustainably.
