Monaco has officially launched its new offensive against online threats with the inaugural meeting of the “Cybermalveillance” subcommittee, On Friday afternoon at the Ministry of State…

Created by Sovereign Ordinance in July, the body brings together key players in national security and technology, including Frédéric Fautrier, Director of the Monaco Agency for Digital Security (AMSN), and Public Security Director Emilie Moreau.

The mission of the subcommittee is clear: protect residents, businesses and institutions from the growing risks of cybercrime. Its mandate includes public awareness campaigns, early detection of emerging threats, and practical assistance for victims of digital incidents, from phishing attacks to online fraud and data breaches.

The Principality has already made significant progress in strengthening its technological infrastructure, but officials insist that cybersecurity is as much about behaviour as it is about firewalls. Education and vigilance will therefore be central to the committee’s strategy, with future initiatives likely to include training sessions, communication campaigns and sector-specific guidance for vulnerable organisations.

As Monaco continues its digital transformation, this latest move reinforces the Government’s determination to ensure that innovation does not come at the expense of security. In the Principality, cybersafety is now a matter of national resilience.
