The 2025 Monte-Carlo E-Rally powered into action on Wednesday night, with a spectacular ceremonial start in front of the iconic Casino de Monte-Carlo, where His Serene Highness Prince Albert II officially waved off the 62 competing crews…

The air was high, not with petrol fumes, but with clean electric energy, as participants set off toward the first two regularity stages.

Among the standout entrants was crew number 26, driven by Camille Gottlieb alongside co-driver Margot Grunstein. The pair proudly carry the colours of the BAFE association, which campaigns against drink-driving — a cause close to the Princess of Hanover’s family. Both Prince Albert II and Princess Stéphanie were on hand to show their support moments before the duo rolled across the starting line.

Now in its latest evolution, the E-Rally continues to blend Monaco’s motorsport heritage with its environmental commitments, showcasing innovation in electric and hybrid mobility across challenging mountain stages.

Over the coming days, competitors will navigate hundreds of kilometres through the Alpine terrain before returning to the Principality for the grand finale. One thing is certain, the roar of engines may be quieter, but the spirit of competition is as loud as ever.
