Monaco’s beloved choir U Cantin d’a Roca marked a major milestone on the evening of Sunday, October 12, celebrating its 30th anniversary with a festive concert and aperitif at the Marché de la Condamine. The event drew a cheerful local crowd who gathered to honour three decades of music, camaraderie and Monegasque pride.

Founded in 1995, the choir has become a fixture of Monaco’s cultural landscape. From national celebrations to intimate community gatherings, U Cantin d’a Roca has lent its rich vocal harmonies to countless events that punctuate life in the Principality. Whether performing traditional songs in the local dialect or beloved international classics, the ensemble has consistently struck a chord with audiences of all ages.

Today, around twenty amateur singers form the heart of the group, united by a shared love of choral music and tradition. At the piano, Roger Rossignol — a long-time collaborator — provides the musical backbone that supports their vibrant performances.

Speaking at the celebration, members reflected on the choir’s enduring role as both a cultural ambassador and a symbol of community connection. Many have sung together for decades, and the bond among them is as strong as their passion for keeping Monegasque song alive.

As the evening unfolded, music mingled with laughter, toasts were raised, and memories shared — a fitting tribute to an institution that has been singing the soul of Monaco for thirty years.
