This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Monegasque National Committee of the International Association of Plastic Arts (AIAP) under UNESCO, founded in 1955 by local painter and architect Étienne Clérissi. To celebrate, an exhibition titled “Monaco, à l’ombre du vent” will run from September 25 to October 12 at 4 Quai Antoine I, open daily from 13:00 to 18:00 with free entry.
The exhibition brings together a wide array of works by Monegasque and resident artists, offering visitors a chance to explore seven decades of creativity that blend tradition and innovation. The title, “in the shadow of the wind”, captures both Monaco’s natural character and the enduring spirit of its artistic community.
AIAP Monaco has long served as a bridge between the Principality and the international art world, fostering cultural dialogue and giving local artists a platform for recognition. The anniversary also honours Étienne Clérissi’s vision of integrating Monaco’s artistic life into a global network while preserving its unique identity.
As AIAP celebrates its past, it also looks to the future, supporting emerging talent and reinforcing Monaco’s role as a hub for cultural exchange.
