Princess Charlène welcomed representatives of the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) to the Prince’s Palace on Monday for the presentation of two donations supporting causes close to her heart: her own foundation and the Société Protectrice des Animaux (S.P.A.) of Monaco, of which she is president.
A cheque for €60,235 was presented to the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation, representing part of the proceeds from the Sunday Grand Prix parties held at Jimmy’z in 2024 and 2025. The funds will contribute to drowning prevention programmes in Bangladesh, where nearly 19,000 people – including 14,000 children – die every year in such incidents. Since 2017, the foundation has supported the Center for Injury Prevention and Research in Cox’s Bazar, and since 2021 it has also partnered with the UK’s Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
In addition, SBM handed over €8,500 to Monaco’s S.P.A., raised through an internal staff sale. The donation will help the association care for animals awaiting adoption and support its broader welfare initiatives.
The ceremony was attended by Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation; Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of SBM; Sophie Vincent, SBM’s Human Resources Director; Frédéric Darnet, Director of the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort; and Antonio Ierone, Manager of Jimmy’z.
The Princess expressed her gratitude to SBM for what she described as its “loyal commitment” to both her foundation and the S.P.A.
