Getting around Monaco during its biggest events is about to get easier. The Princely Government has announced that bus journeys on the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco (CAM) network will be free of charge whenever the Principality hosts large-scale public gatherings.

The initiative, designed to ease congestion and improve mobility, will come into effect for the first time during the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, running from Friday, September 19 to Wednesday, October 1. The free travel window will also cover part of the set-up and dismantling phases of the show, as well as the Luxe Pack Monaco exhibition.

The measure isn’t a one-off: in 2026, free bus access will return for other flagship events, including the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, the Monaco E-Prix, the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco, and the Vuelta cycling race. Exact dates and conditions will be confirmed by CAM closer to each event.

The scheme is the result of close collaboration between the Government and the National Council, and builds on Monaco’s already extensive and efficient bus network, which is reinforced during peak traffic periods. By promoting collective transport, the move aims to reduce road pressure and ensure both residents and visitors can move around the Principality with ease during its busiest and most prestigious occasions.
