The Concerts de la Voûte open their season in Monaco this Saturday with a musical feat that is as demanding as it is meaningful…

Pianist Katherine Nikitine will take to the stage of the Reformed Church to perform the complete set of Chopin’s 24 Études – a rarely attempted cycle often regarded as a marathon of both technical and emotional endurance. Each étude is notoriously difficult, and presenting them in one evening is almost never undertaken.

But the challenge is in the service of a greater purpose. The concert is dedicated to supporting Lueurs d’Espoir, an association based in Lomé, Togo, which provides shelter, care, education, and safety to street children until they reach the Baccalaureate. For Nikitine, who has previously travelled to sub-Saharan Africa to give free lessons and concerts, the event represents a way to connect music with tangible impact.

The evening will combine performance with testimony. Between groups of études, representatives of Lueurs d’Espoir will present the work of the NGO, sharing stories and images of the children it supports. After the concert, attendees will be invited to meet them directly during a convivial gathering.

“One hundred percent of the ticket sales will go to the association,” Nikitine emphasises. With 120 seats available, each priced at €25, every euro raised will be used to provide food, clothing, and security for children in need. Additional donations can also be made via the association’s page on helloasso.com.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, at the Reformed Church of Monaco, offering an evening where musical excellence and human solidarity come together.
