Monaco Telecom has issued a final warning to users of @monaco.mc and @libello.com email addresses: update your email settings before Monday, September 15, or risk being unable to send messages.

The operator is tightening its security standards in response to rising phishing attacks and other email-based threats. From mid-September, any email account not configured to meet international security protocols will be blocked from sending messages.

Users are urged to check that their email clients, such as Outlook, Mail or Thunderbird, are correctly set up to use Monaco Telecom’s secure servers across all their devices. Those relying solely on the webmail service are unaffected, as it already operates on compliant servers.

To help customers make the switch, Monaco Telecom has launched a dedicated webpage (monaco-telecom.mc/config) featuring video tutorials for PC, Mac, Android and iOS. A built-in “Check” tool allows users to confirm their settings by sending a test email. Since June, around 1,300 customers have sought assistance either via the service hotline or at the Maison du Numérique.

Three support options are available:
– Book an appointment at the Maison du Numérique (+377 92 26 92 26)
– Call Monaco Telecom’s customer service (+377 99 66 33 00)
– Use the virtual assistant at www.monaco-telecom.mc or via WhatsApp (+377 377 10 000)

“Securing our customers’ data is one of our top priorities,” said Martin Péronnet, CEO of Monaco Telecom. “Cyberattacks are now the number one threat facing email users. We are reinforcing our infrastructure and supporting clients to adapt.”

Frédéric Fautrier, head of the Monegasque Agency for Digital Security, added: “The risks are serious, from identity theft and data loss to stolen banking details. Vigilance is everyone’s responsibility, but operators must also implement robust protections.”

Monaco Telecom, co-owned by the Government of Monaco and NJJ Holding, is the Principality’s primary telecommunications provider. It operates the country’s fibre and 5G networks and owns Epic, the leading alternative operator in Cyprus and Malta.
