AS Monaco secured a dramatic 3–2 victory over Strasbourg at Stade Louis-II, snatching the win deep into stoppage time after letting a two-goal lead slip. Determined to respond to their narrow loss to Lille a week earlier, Adi Hütter restored his preferred 4-4-2 formation, reshuffled the defence and started Biereth and Balogun together up front, while Maghnes Akliouche featured following his call-up to the French national team.
Monaco struck early when Akliouche capitalised on pressure from Balogun to fire home in the sixth minute. Strasbourg threatened an equaliser soon after, but Hradecký denied them with a strong save. Balogun then doubled the lead early in the second half, finishing calmly after being played in by Lamine Camara, though a potential third from Biereth was ruled out for offside.
The visitors roared back in the final quarter of an hour, with Bakwa’s volley reducing the deficit before Panichelli converted a penalty to level the match at 2–2. Strasbourg continued to press, but Monaco refused to settle for a draw. In the sixth minute of added time, Takumi Minamino rose to head home a superb cross from Akliouche, sealing three crucial points for the Principality side.
The result moves Monaco back within reach of the Ligue 1 McDonald’s podium heading into the international break, keeping their early-season ambitions alive.
