The long-awaited reopening of Monaco’s Exotic Garden has been pushed back once again, with the iconic site now scheduled to welcome visitors in the second half of October 2025. Originally planned for late summer, the revised timeline was confirmed by the town hall, which said an exact date and full programme will be announced in the coming weeks.
Closed since March 2020 for major works, the nearly century-old garden has undergone extensive safety and restoration efforts, including the securing of its famed artificial rock structures, which had posed a risk of collapse. The renovations, jointly financed by the Princely Government and the municipality, have also been used as an opportunity to modernise the site. According to Mayor Georges Marsan, the upper section has been completely redesigned to accommodate private events such as weddings, with new spaces including a bar to enhance the venue’s versatility.
Home to nearly 20,000 succulent plants, or close to 30,000 when including specimens from the nearby Botanical Centre, the Exotic Garden or Jardin Exotique remains one of the Principality’s most distinctive attractions. First inaugurated in 1933, it has been off-limits to visitors for more than five years, but its reopening promises both a fresh look and expanded possibilities for Monaco’s cultural and social calendar.
