Monaco’s presence at the Universal Exhibition in Osaka has become a runaway success, with nearly 900,000 visitors physically passing through the Monaco Pavilion and another 275,000 experiencing it virtually…

As the Expo surpasses 15 million total visitors ahead of its October close, Monaco’s distinctive contribution—combining innovation, environmental leadership, and cultural charm—continues to captivate global audiences.

The pavilion, nestled among those of major nations, surprises many with the scale and sophistication of Monaco’s achievements, especially in sustainability and marine conservation. A highlight for many has been the interactive film experience, transporting guests to the heart of Monaco, followed by a taste of the Principality’s refined hospitality in a replica of the Hôtel de Paris wine cellars. Crowds regularly gather, prompting Japanese security to manage queues daily—an unusual sight and a testament to its popularity.

The National Day of Monaco on June 28 gave the pavilion a further boost. A stirring performance by the Prince’s Carabinieri Orchestra and dancers from Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo was widely shared on social media and brought a surge in footfall.

Led by General Commissioner Mireille Martini, the pavilion continues to evolve with thematic programming aligned with the Expo’s weekly focuses—currently featuring peace initiatives, including projects from Peace and Sport. In recent weeks, interactive games and new collaborations with other pavilions have kept engagement high.

As Monaco’s miniature marvel continues to win hearts in Japan, it proves that size is no barrier to making a global impact—especially when charm, purpose, and creativity combine.
