State Minister Christophe Mirmand paid a visit to the Princess Grace Hospital Centre (CHPG) on the afternoon of Friday, August 1, touring several key departments and engaging with medical teams. He was accompanied by Christophe Robino, Government Counsellor–Minister of Social Affairs and Health, and hospital director Benoîte Rousseau de Sevelinges.

The visit began in the cardiology intensive care unit, where Dr. Yaïci and his team outlined their latest work in critical care. Mirmand then moved on to the nuclear medicine department, where Dr. Paulmier showcased the advanced technologies being implemented to enhance diagnostics and treatment.

The State Minister continued to the maternity ward, led by Professor Carbonne, before concluding his tour at the Maison du Don, the hospital’s blood donation centre. There, he met with Dr. Rinaudo-Gaujous, head of the transfusion service, to discuss the current state of blood donations in Monaco.

This hospital visit is part of a wider programme of meetings that have marked his first weeks in office. In the days following his appointment, Mirmand held initial talks with National Council President Thomas Brezzo, with whom he will reconvene in September to tackle Monaco’s pressing issues. He also met with the Public Safety and Fire Brigade teams, Mayor Georges Marsan at the town hall, the French ambassador, and Robert Laure, president of the Monegasque Association of Financial Activities (AMAF). On Wednesday, July 30, he engaged with Caroline Rougaignon-Vernin at the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, as well as Gérard Rameix, president of the Financial Activities Control Commission.

With Monaco’s summer calendar relatively quiet, these weeks are giving Mirmand the space to absorb the complexities of his new role while steadily building relationships with the country’s key players. His visit to CHPG underscores his focus on understanding the Principality’s essential services from the ground up as he prepares to shape policy in the months ahead.
