The Monaco Bus Company (CAM) has issued an urgent warning to passengers and residents after discovering a fraudulent Facebook page posing as its official account. The scam advertises a non-existent promotion offering six months of free travel or unlimited travel for €2 per month, tricking users into clicking a link designed to steal personal and banking information.
CAM stressed that its only legitimate platforms are its official website, www.cam.mc, and the Monapass mobile app. Any other online offers claiming to provide transport deals should be treated as suspicious.
Residents who have already entered their bank details via the fake link are urged to contact their bank immediately to prevent unauthorised withdrawals. Victims are also advised to report the incident to Monaco’s Cyber Unit by emailing cyber@gouv.mc.
Authorities remind the public to remain vigilant and verify information directly through official channels before engaging with any online offers.
